Privacy policy

The short version

There are no accounts, no ads and no tracking. We don't sell or share your information, and neither the app nor the website collects your name or email address.

The app

Your location. If you allow it, the app uses your location to sort places by distance and show you on the map. That happens on your phone. Your location is never sent to us.

Saved places and settings. The places you save and the sort order you choose stay on your device. Deleting the app deletes them.

Searches. Your searches run on your device and aren't sent to us.

Restaurant information. The app and its widgets download restaurant listings and menus from fairfieldflavor.com, so that website's host sees your internet address, as it would for any website.

Apple services. Maps in the app come from Apple. If you've chosen to share analytics with app developers in your device's settings, Apple may give us anonymous crash reports and usage figures. That choice is yours and can be changed in Settings.

The website

Visitor counts. The site is hosted by Cloudflare, and we use Cloudflare Web Analytics to see totals such as how many people visit and which pages they read. We use it to see overall numbers, not to follow individual people.

Saved places and settings. Your saved places and your light or dark setting are kept in your own browser.

Your location. If you ask for places nearby, your browser asks your permission first. Your location is used in your browser and isn't sent to us.

Maps. Map images come from CARTO, which sees your internet address when it sends them. If you ask for directions, you choose Apple Maps or Google Maps, and that service takes over from there.

Links to other sites

Places link to their own websites and to pages such as Instagram, Facebook and Yelp. Those sites have their own privacy policies.

Children

Fairfield Flavor is a general-interest restaurant guide. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.
